This mix was recorded live at The Lab on Saturday, April 12th and took place from 12:30am - 2:00 am MST during the Full Moon Gathering. Funny enough, my first show ever was April 11th 2019 so this mix marks 6 years of playing shows. I didn't even realize this until a good buddy of mine had sent me a memory a couple of days later and we reflected on that show, so this mix is quite special to me and I'm very happy with the mix. Every show I play is different so no to shows will never be the same track list or mix. I think its important for a DJ to mix fresh as every show and experience is unique and holds a different space. During my set I played some new stuff and also few older tracks that I have been feeling that had re-emerged in my atmosphere over the last few weeks. I was also compelled during the mix to put a few of my tracks in there as well; I don't always do this but it felt right so I went with the vibe. 1. What was your inspiration for the mix?
I always approach the mixing and music selection from a dancer perspective. Only playing the music that i like whenever i go to dance. I had discovered how hypnotic/groovy tracks can be really dark and dissonant on the mid-high frequencies but sometimes "happier" on the low-end, and this thing just got me super interested on how contextual is techno in clubs when these are played on big sound systems. I loved the idea of always having low-end in front of your face and jump around Kick and bass in the club. That's not the case when listening on devices where low-end is not even hearable.

On the mid-high i like finding tracks where a call and response is made, this create something that i call push and pull effect where each 8, 16, or 32 bar different sounds creates this effect of make a call with different instruments and then responding with other synth or percussive sounds. This creates a feeling of something starting and finishing on small chunks of movement. You can jump over sounds, grabbing them and playing with them, and creates a feeling of things starting again every time which makes it more fun to me to dance.

2. How do you think your local music scene has shaped your sound as an artist / approach to nightlife?
When i moved to Leipzig in 2023 i had experienced german techno scene from first time. Some time after i just jumped straight into producing techno in Ableton where i realized how flexible and open it's to create and experiment.

My music taste were always open so when i jumped into producing i experimented with Trance, Groovy, Hard Techno and even Industrial tracks where all of this was part of exploration to understand what i like for making music.

Later on my journey i met Alarico for the first time, where i understood how Hypnotic can be dark but groovy at the same time, this was really important in terms of understanding what i like and how i wanted to sound when mixing and producing.

Talking about nightlife approach i been in multiple events in Leipzig where i've discovered multiple artists that showed me different techno sub genres for first time. Just to name a few: Carlotta Jacobbi, Strumm, KunstTecnologge, Einfach Winter. These local artists were important on my sound shape and understand how different feeling can be created on the dancefloor between different sub genres and bpm velocities.

Sound shaping is a constant and evolving thing, and music digging always will create bring new ideas to the table when mixing or producing and i got to say that friends are a big part of this sound developing as well. My dj friends who mixed with me all this time: Odiseo, Oxizo, Phink.

The be chained and have your ear tap into me and what I like to play and listen to. This doesn’t mean we’re going to go into deep cuts each time. I just want you to feel it and lock in.

90 minutes of electro music recorded live in July 2025 at Forest Friends, a private campout held in the wilderness outside of Portland, Oregon. 

Centrikal (Patrick Frye) is a DJ, producer, and event organizer (Nu Habitat, 23L3CTRO) who specializes in electro, with a background in house and techno. His production and DJ sets showcase decades of experience, including collaborations with artists like DJ Slip and Freaky Chakra. His music has been released on labels including SubSensory, Particle Music, Peloton Musique, Radda Records, Innerflight Music, Nude Photo Music, bleepsequence, and his own An1mlz Music.

D.Vices (Jack Coleman, aka JAK) is a DJ, producer, organizer, and live electronic music performer from Portland, Oregon. D.Vices draws from Jack’s 20+ year immersion in rave and electronic music culture to create a mutant blend of electro, breakbeats, acid and bass. Since launching the D.Vices project in 2021, he has released a series of chart-topping tracks on labels including Particle Music, Alien Breakdance, Resource Records, and ZEN DNA, as well as a limited vinyl release on Detroit’s RWYS Records.

Info: Jakob Mäder returns with "Understanding", a two-track EP that showcases the Stuttgart-based artist’s refined sense for deep grooves and genre-blending soundscapes. Known for his wide-ranging musical vision and versatile DJ and live performances, Mäder delivers two original cuts that echo his deep house roots and experimental curiosity—accompanied by a stellar remix from long-time collaborator Luise.
