Dramona takes things down, but not for long- a pumping bass line hums through while accents rise and fall throughout the journey. She licked her lips provocatively as she stared him up and down. In the distance there was music playing but the pair cared not for such ambience beneath the glow of the moonlight. Before them the waves rolled gracefully upon the dusty sand, the palm trees blowing delicately in the warm air. The sky was a bitter shade of black, the stars faintly visible behind the gloomy clouds. This was not some sort of peaceful paradise but a stormy romance on an island lost.

PREMIERE | Zakmina - Drama (In Flagranti Remix) [Nein Records] 2018

For this third DGTL release, Man Power created a three-track EP called Apologue EP, that showcases just two of different sides of his multi-faceted musical scope.

The a-side features two firm, acid influenced tracks. The first of these two, The Duellist, is an emotive house record, with a soundscape of piano melodies, synths and syncopated percussion laid on top of an acid bassline. El Mago del Tiempo features heavy hitting kicks combined with a sharp synth pattern. It has a long build up that keeps evolving throughout the entire composition. Halfway through, the track breaks in to a raw and fierce rhythm accompanied by yearning, drawn-out synth pads.
On the flipside, Put Your Hands on the Car (And Get Ready To Die) brings back memories of a long gone past with nods to Balearic Pop, EBM, and the Soundtrack work of Stewart Copeland, James Horner, and Jan Hammer. This multi layered production has a warm and analogue sounding feel to it that rounds off a 3 dimensional release.

'By Your Side' is the second solo release of the year from Will Saul, it follows his spring 12" 'Bugs' which gathered support from Gilles Peterson on his BBC 6 music show as well as Leon Vynehall, Midland & Deetron. Never content to sit still in one style or genre 'BYS' see's will exploring his love for electro, acid and tripped out left of center house. With more EP's on the horizon for the autumn we find an artist full of inspiration, elated to be back in the studio and enjoying his most fruitful production spell in recent history.

from time to time some little song comes up to get my attention and my memories or
often happens that I can't remember anything about this or that track , other times the song was abandoned because wasn't good enough. in this case, I know perfectly why this lovely tune has been buried so far. No matter how hard I tried, no Label ever wanted to publish it, That is Cruel, don't you think?
