On April 8th 2024, for 4 minutes and 20 seconds, darkness fell in the middle of the day.  The cosmic alignment of the Earth Sun & Moon created a ring of fire in the sky over Texas delivering a mystical natural phenomenon which words utterly fail to describe.   The energy of this eclipse felt like one of new beginnings.  Following the Oregon Eclipse almost 7 years prior, this one felt like a book end which brought closure to the chapter(s) of life that played out between 2017-2024.  

Love, loss, joy, grief, transformation, evolution, death, life...all of these played major parts in the ups and downs that were necessary to deliver us the perspective and understanding that can only come from living life and learning about ourselves and those around us through the process.  

The tracks in this mix are a reflection of my contemplation on these past few years.  They represent a road map of the growth and evolution I've experienced as I've made the internal pilgrimage from boy to man.  They provide a reminder for me to slow down and find the graceful movement that nourishes my soul in the spaces in between.  This mix is a love letter to all the lessons I've learned while excavating and illuminating the dark corners of my own mind in the perpetual pursuit of becoming a better version of myself.  

I hope this journey speaks to you.  I hope it may bring joy and movement and expression.  I hope it may highlight some of the artists who I've been geeking out on that inspire me to dance and to maybe even open ableton on a more regular basis.  And most of all, i hope it gives you some serious stank face because these beats absolutely blow me away and invite my body into authentic soul expression through dancing.  

I wish you a happy Summer Solstice, a fulcrum point where the light is strongest and illuminates the dark corners where shadows may dwell.  I wish you peace in a world that can feel consumed by chaos.  I wish you clarity and an illuminated path so you may follow your dreams and embrace your destiny.  I wish you the best in all you do.  Hope to see you on a dance floor soon.
