Originally from Boston and now based in Los Angeles,Jake was raised in a household immersed in the sounds of classic rock and disco, sparking a lifelong passion for music. Starting with piano and later switching to cello, Jake became principal cellist for the Worcester Youth Symphony and Clafin Hill Youth Orchestra, performing with prestigious groups such as the New England Conservatory, New England String Quartet, and Boston Symphony.

After an accident in college ended Jake's ability to play, DJing became a way to continue exploring music. Inspired by some of the icons of dance music, Armand Van Helden and Mark Knight, La Chapel quickly developed a passion for the craft. Now, under the guidance of the resident DJs at the world-famous Abbey in West Hollywood, Jake blends classical training with a deep respect for the golden age of house and dance music, bringing that influence into the modern DJ scene.
