Frozen Thunder

Story
Capac and Ocllo, children of the Sun, founders of Cusco and civilizers of the Andean world.
In the sacred heights of Lake Titicaca, where the sky is reflected like a mirror in the eternal waters, the god Inti, the Sun, sadly contemplated the savage life of humans. There was no law or order, no textiles or temples, only caves and hunting. Then, he decided to send his children: Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, to sow civilization on earth.
Divine Birth and Sacred Mission
• Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo emerged from the waters of Lake Titicaca, carrying a golden rod that was to be sunk into the fertile soil where they would found the heart of the Inca Empire.
• They were brother and sister, husband and wife, embodying the sacred duality of the Andean world: masculine and feminine, Sun and Earth.
The Journey to the Navel of the World
• They traveled the Andes guided by the golden rod. At each step, they taught the people they met:
• Capac instructed the men in agriculture, fishing, construction, and sun worship.
• Ocllo taught the women the art of weaving, child rearing, and homemaking.
• Finally, in a valley surrounded by majestic mountains, the rod sank without resistance. There they founded Cusco, Qosqo, the navel of the world.
Founding of the Inca Empire
• From Cusco, the children of the Sun established the foundations of Tahuantinsuyu, the empire of the four regions.
• Their history was passed down through generations, first orally by the Quipucamayoc, then written down by chroniclers such as Garcilaso de la Vega, a descendant of the Inca nobility.
