Bill Brewster - "Hotel Motel, which is myself and Alex Tepper, did this remix over five years ago, sometime in the second half of 2016. Think it may have been the last thing Alex and I did together. He’s subsequently gone on to work for Calvin Harris and Jax Jones. Talented boy.   I’m a fan of Jeb Loy’s work and thought it would be interesting to try and match his country-soul stylings with something very electronic. We stripped everything back save his vocals and guitar, stretched it out and kept it deep. We were really happy with the result, but I’m not sure anyone at the label liked it very much. It was promoed a few years later but never released. One person who did like it, was Andrew Weatherall; I gave it to him and his partner in crime at ALFOS, Sean, and I know they both played it. Then it died a death. This is your chance to breathe new life into it :)"

Let's chill and have a good time - it's Bass Panda's 11th annual Summerdaze!

Basically, I was thinking to myself, how does one incorporate the sounds of the ocean and the sea within one beautifully orchestrated piece of music? So then I put together quite the masterpiece, using the sounds of the ocean, utilizing noises from live seals, dolphins, echolocation, to make a beautiful piece of music to be played at church, in the workplace - anywhere you want.

Opening the 2022 cycle of releases, we are happy to welcome Pérola Branca (@perolabranca) to the family. The Brazilian duo formed by Mandruvá (@mandruvamusic) and AVGVSTVS (@avgustvs) presents their brand new EP "Tudo Que Era Sólido Desmanchou No Ar", which translates to “All That Is Solid Has Crumbled In The Air”. 

The EP had a long construction, natural and with a lot of study, taking over 3 years to finish. Resulting in 3 original and completely organic tracks (one with them a collab with @ellloron), filled with various instruments, percussions and ambient recordings. The work quickly takes us to different corners of the planet, it is tied together with continuity and presents a vintage, vinyl aesthetic. 

Pérola Branca is the artistic reunion between the brazilian duo AVGVSTVS and Mandruvá, creators of electronic scenes and parties at the South of Minas Gerais and the interior of São Paulo. The main idea behind the project is the synergy between organic and electronic, along with references from different places, creating unique productions that often go against the norm. With releases in national and international labels, the duo also loves to release edits and original productions for free on their own page. 

For the first time ever we managed to sync our release dates, so you can listen, download, buy or stream this release in all platforms right now.

Abrindo o ciclo de lançamentos de 2022, temos o prazer de dar as boas vindas ao duo Pérola Branca. Composto por Mandruvá (@mandruvamusic) e AVGVSTVS (@avgvstvs), a dupla apresenta seu novo EP "Tudo Que Era Sólido Desmanchou No Ar". 

O EP teve uma longa construção, natural e repleta de estudo, levando mais de 3 anos para terminar. O resultado são 3 faixas originais e totalmente orgânicas, cheias de instrumentos, percussões e gravações. O trabalho final rapidamente nos leva para cantos diferentes do planeta, e é amarrado com continuidade, apresentando uma estética de vinil vintage. 

Pérola Branca é a reunião artística dos brasileiros Augusto Perdigone (AVGVSTVS) e Murillo Faleiros (Mandruvá), criadores de festas e fomentadores da cena eletrônica do interior de São Paulo e Sul de Minas Gerais. A ideia por trás do projeto é explorar a sinergia entre orgânico e eletrônico, com referências de diversos lugares, criando produções únicas que diferem da norma. Com lançamentos em selos nacionais e internacionais, o duo frequentemente lança edits e produções originais gratuitamente em sua própria pagina.

TASHEENO est un projet musical crossover dirigé par les producteurs et musiciens Paul Krackowizer et le Chilien, Felipe Ramos, à Linz, en Autriche.
Ses productions musicales se composent principalement de 3 éléments : le rythme, les cuivres et les voix et le groupe collabore principalement avec des artistes internationaux enracinés dans les genres reggae, afro et dancehall pour offrir un mélange coloré de sons et de grooves, nommé Electronic Afro Dub : des saveurs afro-caribéennes, un mélange d’instruments analogiques et synthétiques, de samples et de cuivres en direct qui mettent l’accent sur le groove hybride et le son électronique.

Le 11 mars dernier, le duo a sorti un nouvel EP dédié de reprises avec 5 classiques revisités à leur sauce : "Shuffering & Shmiling" et "Zombie" de Fela Kuti, "No No No" de Dawn Penn, "Satta Massagana" des Abyssinians, "I'm Still In Love" d'Alton Ellis & Zombie.

À la demande de Musical Echoes, ils ont réalisé un mix spécial d'une heure composé de leurs principales influences mais aussi de leurs propres productions. De quoi enflammer n'importe quel danceflloor !

No Man's Land - July 14 + July 21 - Radio Mix 2022

Grassmouth wears a multifaceted musical hat. The love of music runs through his family and it definitely did not miss him. Growing up he was exposed to the likes of Sam Cooke and Miles Davis from a very young age, De La Soul was listened to at all hours and the rhythms of reggae and dub pumped through his veins. His great grandparents performed music live to air, his grandfather was a radio host on New Zealand’s first radio station, Radio Dunedin, his uncle tried numerous times to put together a family band because that many of them played instruments and Grassmouth himself plays the guitar, sings, DJs and produces his own music.

With all this going on in the background, it’s no wonder he has ended ups doing what he does. A radio host himself on Base FM, Grassmouth hosts the In The Neighbourhood breakfast show which showcases New Zealand music. Covering an extremely broad range of music, he interviews artists and introduces music to the masses. He also runs a mentoring programme which acquaints young people with the ins and outs of radio broadcasting as well as editing and composing original songs.

And we haven’t even touched on his DJing yet.

Grassmouth’s roots are firmly trenched in hip hop reggae and soul. Time spent in the concrete jungle and swirling fusion of sound that is Berlin introduced him to the slower tempo four-four. Dual time spent in Vanuatu lapping up the lackadaisical harmonies of beach-front bungalows, he found inspiration in ethnic, world music, afrobeat and more. Grassmouth effortlessly fuses all this and more into deep, tempered, rhythmic soundscapes that he refers to as “shaman-house”. 

LO-FI are proud to bring you Grassmouth’s Exploration mix, turn it up and zone out to this melting pot of sound from all four corners of the globe.

"I was only one time at Almalomb. 
Last Summer, after a week long under the harsh conditions of Ozora Festival, arriving at Almalomb seemed like finding an oasis. I felt an immediate connection with the space, the vibe and the food. Calm, it was all so calm, everything in its place, the mill, the house inside. 
The invitation came from my brother in Pècs, Marton Bodo, local music hero and partner to many adventures and for some hours we shared our musical passion with Alamlomb. Then rain came and we had to stop, so I kinda felt there was a part missing and that's how I came to to this podcast. And last but not the least, the wonderful hosting of Judit made everything come together!
