Another Girl

This is a companion piece to the recently released ANTH01 compilation. I wanted to put together some of my personal favourite tracks from the release alongside a couple omissions, remixes from the era both for others (like Radiohead and Koreless), the Kingdom edit of Tell Me and the showstopping Koreless remix of the Look, alongside a couple bootleg remixes I put out on a 10" in August 2011, as well as a track Ango and I recorded around this era as well that was a mainstay in our live shows but never saw the light of day. An approximation of what a live set or DJ set featuring all my own material would have maybe felt like around this time.

Since releasing his last studio album, Dawn Chorus, in 2019 - JG has scored the short film Exhaust starring Jimmie Fails (The Last Black Man in San Francisco), Glenn Kaino's installation piece Tidepools (alongside Nosaj Thing) and the video game Homeschool. He released remixes for artists suchs as Para One, DC Salas, Amtrac, Kllo, Elohim, Kacy Hill and Montreal disco legends Lime. In 2020 he made headlines for creating Promise - the first single released with associated NFT that staked the owner to music publishing. In 2021 Greene released ANTH01, a reissue compiling his first few years of releases across various labels, alongside unheard tracks from the era. Alongside Joel Ford, Leanne Macomber, Satomi Image and Noah Baker, Fantasy is the next step for an artist who continues to mature. As Pitchfork stated “A decade since he released his first EP, he’s still finding new paths to euphoria." Further "Jacques Greene just might abandon dance music altogether—but for now, it’s a form that he continues to reshape in his own way with each new release.”
