To return to a place where memories are carved on the psyche and cloaked in childhood emotion, is to inhabit an interplay of two realities - as it appears and as it is remembered. 
Joy sharpens the senses.
Colours are vivid and distinct. 
Smell and sound evoke visceral reactions of dreamlike familiarity. 
What once was is again.
The seduction of timelessness gives memory a life of its own. 
Here, the illusion of eternity triggers a passionate search for something that cannot be found.

Kii Peninsula transitory

This is a prototype for a project called Sound Park 2020. It has been composed using data sonification from yearly mean records of solar exposure from the Australian Government's Bureau of Meteorology, along with the sounds of bellbirds and whip birds, tree frogs, walking in long grass, cars and city streets.
