First off, a HUGE thank you to Alexander Saddic of The GoAround for recording and writing the drums/bass for this project. Truly, this could not have been done without him. Also Mark Trewella of Full Circle Mastering in Philly.

This EP is the first of, hopefully, many, and its completion is bigger than simply the fruition of my passion. Its a collection of songs written over the past five years (in chronological order: Waste Away, Las Vegas Nights, Misty Mae, Movin' Down to Texas, Pray for Me), and range from the deeply personal and literal story of Movin' Down to Texas to the inclusive, if not generic, breakup-hit of Misty Mae. This EP is a signifier to myself and those who have influenced its making. This is, in the humblest manner, an affirmation of my intuition, proof that I was right.

My whole life I wanted to be a rockstar. I wanted to be a singer. After a decade of being told by my friends and family that I could not sing, I decided to prove them wrong. It was my dream to write and record my own music, and that dream was come true. Finishing this EP means that, at 23, I can cross something off my bucket-list. 

It is a metaphorical (and literal) middle-finger to the girl who said I'd never follow through on music, who dumped me because she thought I was giving up my passion, and by extension, her as well. This is proof positive that it was timing, not my love dying, that was the obstacle. If you'd like to hear that story, listen to Movin' Down to Texas. 

This is not an album written from spite or malice, or with a burning desire to prove "haters" wrong. I did this for myself, for any "fans" who actually like my music, and for anyone else out there with a couple of songs and the courage and desire to just give this a try. Odds are that the only people who will read this will be CDBaby's content monitors, a few close friends, and maybe my parents. But however slim the odds are of making it big, they're astronomically larger than if I had kept this dream as simply that.
