you would assume that this song is based off another person & that its a love song, based off the title and the lyrics. but really, it's a letter to myself; my younger, current, and future self. 

I wrote this song as another way of saying "im gonna make you proud". it's about giving my all and trying my best to make the dreams I have come true. the lyrics in this record, in my opinion, are so clever. "I can't promise you forever, but I can swear on this, I know, I'll give you my all". 

there are a lot of good moments in this song that tell a story. that's also why you hear a throwback audio of little mia (at 2 years old) & my mom as she explains that she's recording the moment so that future mia can look back at it. its a really bittersweet addition to the song that ties together the overall message (if you didn't catch it while listening). I love the placement of it. 

this song truly sets the tone of my mindset starting 2024. im so excited for the journey to come. cheers to doing it for our younger, current, & future selves :)

Jada Ali, a rapper from Flint, Michigan, discovered her love for rhyming at age 10, immersing herself in the craft of songwriting. Influenced by musical icons like Aaliyah, Foxy Brown, Missy Elliot, and Left-Eye, Jada developed a unique style while staying true to her authentic self.



Between 2016 and 2019, she received guidance from Flint native and renowned recording artist Jon Connor, who provided mentorship and nurtured her artistic growth. Inspired by her collaboration with Connor, Jada founded her own record label, Round Table Association. In early 2020, she unveiled her inaugural project, "Long Time No Speak," accompanied by a series of lead singles, videos, and a mini-documentary detailing her creative process.



Building on the success of her debut, Jada released her first full length project, "Hard to Love," in 2022, sparking a surge in live performances, street promotions, and interviews. Her captivating journey is chronicled on her YouTube channel, JadaAliTV, where fans can delve into her compelling narrative and vibrant performances.
In early 2020, Jada's first release from her record label, Round Table Association, was the album Long Time No Speak, complete with a roll-out of several singles/videos and a documentary of the album process. She followed up with the album Hard to Love in 2022 which led to more live shows and interviews which can be viewed on her YouTube channel: JadaAliTV.
