Wistman's Wood - J & C Gall

Jade started her love for music off at a young age as a flautist before venturing onto the tenor saxophone at age 13.

 She went on to study at Dartington College of Arts as an undergraduate where she gained a BA(hons) in Music (professional practice). During her time at Dartington, she continued her jazz studies privately with jazz saxophonist Martin Dale, who was the first person to introduce Jade to the wonderful world of jazz improvisation. Jade later went on to study classically at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she studied under classical saxophonists Lara James and Gerard McChrystal. She went onto graduate as a Master of Arts in music performance in 2013. 

 Jade always had a secret love for the likes of Hank Mobely, Stanley Turrentine, Dexter Gordon and Stan Getz (to name but a few), and knew that jazz was her true love, although the classical training allowed for a solid technique. 

 Jade is regularly performing on the South West scene, performing as a guest artist or with her Quartet and Quintet. She also performs with many local bands and touring companys in various horn sections. Jade's Quintet will be releasing their first album this coming March (2016), so keep your eyes peeled! It will contain some of Jade's favourite standards. 

 Jade is also a keen educator, she is a clarinet and saxophone tutor at Taunton School.
