In many other compositions I have done more traditional score and notation but recently I've been composing using the influence of Imagery, Art, Soundscapes and Film. Abelton allows me more freedom to create that organic/atmospheric like element to music and sound (hence the lack of score). Unfortunately, I do know that limits the ability for evaluators to follow and analyze the score/music and not just listen, but I almost want to say that’s a nod to some of the point. The audio files from the composition were directly played into the software from my external keyboard when I was writing it. This organic approach to composition is very personal and intimate as it negates the "formality" of score, polished recording and editing for analysis and consumption. My compositions are a continued recording of the thoughts, melodies, beauty and disgust that coexists within all the things that surround me. Ultimately, I want to create an atmospheric mirror that reflects all the truest forms and feelings of life no matter how long or short we are here to see our own reflection.
