With episode one from brand curators Tale Of Us encapsulating their hugely successful Afterlife events and record label, the second offering in the exploratory concept’s mix series sees Vaal embark on an intrepid ‘Voyage’ of her own - which is now available to listen via Soundcloud.  

Having already appeared on the Afterlife imprint for a soulful and lamenting three-track EP named ‘Wander to Hell’ last October, Vaal’s offering for Voyage 002 keeps with the possessive spirit of Afterlife and traverses techno where others retreat. In this fittingly free-feeling 100-minute mix, Vaal conjures up the emotions that saturate her minimal style; “equally human, equally electronic”, resulting in an experience that’s always arresting and deeply affecting.

A regular guest of Afterlife as it tours - recent dates include a UK debut and showcases in Miami for Art Basel as well as Mexico - Vaal earmarks herself as a rising talent in 2017 and one that is not scared to experiment.

Denis Horvat burst onto DJ Mag’s radar in 2015 with his ‘Cedevita’ EP, and we’ve been keen for him to take the helm of our Fresh Kicks mix ever since.

With his dynamic productions and complex sets of and deep and melodic techno, Horvat now regularly shares the bill with some of the world’s most revered selectors, including the likes of Âme, Dixon and Maceo Plex.

Having also seen release on labels including Exit Strategy, Connaisseur Recordings and Sum Over Histories, Horvat has since found a regular home on Alex Niggemann’s AEON Audio.

Speaking about his Fresh Kicks mix, Horvat told DJ Mag, “I’ve selected tracks that I play in almost every set at the moment. Some of those are unreleased gems from friends and others are artists that I’m really feeling right now.”

Together from birth, two brothers united by their passion for music and more, Pongo is the latest sound evolution of Giovanni Bruni and Daniele Bruni. Growing up with a very similar musical culture, handed down in turn by their parents, the two brothers have always shared their art projects together. Giovanni started playing as a DJ in the early 2000s now enjoying success in the most famous clubs of the clubbing scene in Tuscany. Soon, his younger brother Daniele follows the same steps as supporting him in DJ sets and creating their first music projects together. In 2011, together with Luca L. and Elia C. founded the brand Yuma Recordings.In addition to the  label ,Yuma began to be known for the club event, Yuma Nights, and in 2013 the collective Yuma created the Vibe Club, a place that offered innovative sound in Italian nightlife. The brothers felt that they had to make their most personal productions, with which they can open up more towards a wider musical landscape.
 After a period of evolution in the studio in 2016, it's time to get back on stage for Giovanni and Daniele with their new Pongo project that takes shape with Giovanni on vocals. Their strong influences that fuses electronics, soul, and techno have created this new way of approaching the dancefloor: the combination of evocative song and a powerful and refined set.

Afterlife Recordings proudly presents ‘Nude’, the debut album of Swiss duo Adriatique. It’s Adrian Shala and Adrian Schweizer’s most personal artistic statement yet, a collection of songs, capturing their feelings and memories.
The two Adrians’ close friendship and complementary skill sets have helped develop Adriatique into one of the most esteemed acts on the house and techno circuit. Their releases since 2011 have come through leading labels such as Diynamic, Cityfox and their own imprint, Siamese. They signed to Afterlife early in 2018 with the club-ready single ‘Ray’. It followed a remix of Tale Of Us & Vaal’s anthemic ‘Monument’ and announced Adriatique as a core artist both on Afterlife Recordings and at their events in Ibiza as well as
worldwide.
‘Nude’ is the most diverse and adventurous record in the catalogs of both artist and label. It switches between slick, downtempo electronica and driving club fare without breaking stride. Afforded the freedom that comes with a full-length album, we hear another side of Adriatique.

In 2019 Maurice, Whitesquare's real name, has released groundbreaking music on his very own Whitesquare Series label, namely 'Cinque Finschi' and 'Algernon', as well as his 'Time Balance EP' on VOD and the highly anticapted 'Visual Distortion of Reality' on Dj Tennis' in-demand imprint Life And Death. Aside from the afromentioned original music Whitesquare is about to drop two remixes on Disco Halal – Mount Kismet's 'Teenage Fantasy' gets an Acid-ish makeover – and Dutch label Atomnation. But when you thought you'd heard it all, Whitesquare delivers the latest art:cast for Torture the Artist and digs musically as deep as wide to prove that one might pinpoint the artist to quality music but not to a certain (sub)genre. Starting with (Italo)disco-vibes Maurice picks up the typical Whitesquare-groove with any proceeding minute one's in the mix. Bass lines flicker as pads and Disco samples vary and alternate in a harmonic and comfortable manner to create a feel-good atomsphere one delicately likes to move. Whitesquare's diversity is higly palpable, highly appreciated and smoothly sums up what one can already conclude from his releases: he's a multi-genre genius still remaining true to one groove – the Whitesquare groove.
