BIOGRAPHY

Jerome Darnell Persley (born May 1, 1985) is a singer/rapper, songwriter and producer and one of the architects of the new Rap and R&B sound. As a performer, he is deliberate in his delivery of every melody and hook. As a toddler, this preacher's kid had the bug. With a family grounded in the church, gospel was the music in the Persley home. As Jerome grew into a young man, his aunt Evelyn Holder introduced him to Soul, R&B and Funk Bands of the day, where she was enjoying success working with other notable acts and fronting the well known Crash Band, which hailed from Gary, Indiana. Coming from this diverse musical background there was no doubt that Jerome would excel in all music genres. As a songwriter, Jerome has a substantial catalogue of which the greater part has been collaborations with his talented family. Jerome was born in Champaign, Illinois, and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. He took "Romie Rome" as his stage name after his closest friends shortened his first name when addressing him. Romie Rome has tried his hand at other areas within the industry, with an opportunity to experience modeling through the AMTC 2010 in Atlanta. 

After covering the single "My Forever Love", by Gerald Levert with his cousin Paul R. Persley, the duo gained the approval of the Leverts and set out to release their version. For Romie Rome further collaborations followed, both as solo and as a member of some hot local acts. Romie Rome keeps his hand in the game with regional castings like the 2007 P Diddy Production, "Making the Band" where he advanced through the 4th round. Romie Rome continues to sharpen his craft working with prolific singer, songwriter and producer Andy Griffen Jr., of Griffen Music Group, and his collaboration with Jazz, Blues and R&B vocalist Stan Hill, formerly with Zero Tolerance. 

Romie Rome's ultimate goal in this industry is longevity and the introduction of his gifts and talents to a wider audience.  Other influences upon his music includes: Micheal Jackson, Anthony Hamilton, Rance Allen, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.  Romie Rome would like to write and produce with Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Mario and Mary J. Blige, just to name a few.
