Kuukou has seen a whirlwind of releases since its inception and sets off its new series “Passengers”. Welcoming newcomers and virtuosos alike, the series brings together spellbinding tracks coming from various artists brought together by the same key element: straight-up techno. 

John Haden & Monococ kick off proceedings with “Volcano”, a track that’s quick and steady, setting the pace from the first bar. With a stripped down overall aesthetic, strong percussion takes centre stage, joined by a playful yet solemn melody.

“Canyon Voice”, an offering by Romanian electronic forerunner Horace Dan D., dives in swiftly with a heavy bassline and distorted chops. Distorted vocals add extra zest, while keeping the focus on the beat.

Overloque’s „Voodoo“ provides a dose of progressive techno vibes. With a solid pace and a dark undertone, it makes for a great slice of jagged rawness.

Frequency-hunter duo Jägerhertz deliver a morcel of high-energy techno. “Ikon” is fast paced and balances undulating synths with airy pads that are bound to set the floor on fire.

With a subdued ambiance and muted chords, newcomer Aetius Boutefoy with “Issho”, an aerial bit of deep tech. Avian sounds combined with tribal loops, married with wind instruments induce a sense of industrial-nature unison, creating a breezy atmosphere.

BIO: Jagerhertz is the creation of two musically synced brains. The idea behind this project is to deliver unique, energetic and full-on Techno. Anna and Philipp are frequency hunters who were connected years ago by a very special energy which includes a great love for music, old synthesizers and partying (with Jagermeister of course!) This explosive mix of energies is an inseparable part of their every day life that will always translate to the magical atmosphere on the dance foor. Their sound will surprise you with high-energy slabs wrapped in soulful melodies, twisted by dirty synth lines.
With their mixes and their production these two will take you through an unforgettable musical journey to the edge of the 4/4 universe.

Coming straight from the underground they gained considerable respect with their appearances all over the UK and fnally their noise was heard by Berlin based label Kuukou Records which signed their highly acclaimed debut track “IKON”.

Volume 3 of the VA Kuukou compilation aptly entitled Passengers brings together a sexted of label alums as well as fresh faces each bringing their unique production flair into one original track. The tracks make for an exhaustive arsenal of club weapons for different times of the set, like floor up-warmers Apriori, with its syncopated melody or Heinerich and Heine’s playfully groovy L’amnésie. There’s also a share of powerful roof raisers, from JOANiSH’s punchy The Great Hike to Italian producer and electronic music platform head Barbur’s straightforward techno number Its Berlin or Jägerhertz’ relentlessly elevating No Way Out. Rounding off the release in a rhythm-heavy, glitched-out fashion there’s Tomiac’s tonic Transposition.

The fifth edition of KKUVA houses four epic tracks from a cluster of sonically diverse artists with one thing in common: standing together under the techno umbrella.
Stuttgarters Vamos Art describe their music as “hypnotic techno”, a label that couldn’t describe the first track, Antistatic better. Mesmerizing from the first bars, its dynamic yet progressive build up makes for an instant dancefloor weapon. Italy’s Roby M Rage has been alternating lockdown time between live streams and producing heavy hitters, as is evident with his track X-File. Highly engaging dark techno descending into acid, it spells smokey atmosphere all throughout. Also hailing from Italy, newcomer Omis brings a hard techno edge with Secret State, a solid groove with weighty drums and an acid-tinged lead. Bristol-based duo Jägerhertz round up the release with the buzzing Starliner, a scintillating slice of restrained techno.
