I’ve done over 150 concerts. I’ve recorded over 400 songs. I’ve been in the music industry since 2004. I’ve been #1 on a top 10 count Down at the height of radio. No one knows me and I have nothing to show for it. I’ve never released an official project. I have no songs on any streaming platform. No videos. I’ve met sooo many famous ppl and shred the stage with the biggest artists. All my songs have been lost for the most part. Every video tape of my tours back in the day were stolen. I’m old now. At least for trying to be an artist. That’s what it feels like at least. 

I’d like to make videos for all my songs. I want to create puzzles and scavenger hunts for my listeners. I want to do podcasts and promote my music. I want to collab with artists of all disciplines to create cool collabs. I want to make merch that is collected. I want to make music with composers and producers, songwriters and other artists that have way more accolades and achievements than me. 

I’ve spent so much time trying to find a way to get rich so I can just focus on music for so long if I’d just got a job and paid for it slowly I’d be where I want. I’m an entrepreneur. I’ve built businesses my whole life and it feels similar to my music career. I’ve half assed.  I’ve cut corners. I’ve taken more than I’ve given. I talked too much when I should have shut my mouth. It shows in all aspects of my life. 

I don’t think I’m a loser. I’m a winner that keeps choosing to lose. I kept setting myself up for failure. It was cyclical. High highs and longer low lows. 

Good news. Something clicked. Around 35 something clicked. Maybe a little before. Maybe a little after. 

I’ll tell you this. You need to practice being a good friend if you’re not one. You need to form habits slowly instead of procrastinating and working hard for a day or few. Don’t go to the gym and bust ass randomly. You’ll never go back. You do some things how you do everything and if you do that for the gym, i guarantee you’re doing that for everything else in your life. 

Consistency and reliability. That is the key to everything. Do you know what that essentially breaks down to? Responsibility. You have to put as much responsibility in your lap as you can. Especially as man. It will bleed in to it all. 

Do that with everything. For example, as an artist your fans are wanting to rely on you as an artist. Be consistent and they will be able to do that. Do it long enough and you’ll have a relationship with your audience. They’ll be there because you’ve been there for them.
