excess return to the fray with the sophomore instalment of their charity VA series -ANY BPM. The record delivers upon the excess mantra & assembles bassy cuts of every flavour, across a glistening tracklist featuring nineteen unique producers from across the globe. The project was undertaken in support of Fareshare, a UK based charity that combats food poverty across the country.
In our time of spiralling inflation, the burgeoning cost of living crisis has made food poverty a daunting reality for so many. excess will donate all profits from the sales of this project to Fareshare, to make what difference we can to those in need during a time of unprecedented difficulty.
Contributing to this cause are a host of exciting artists, across a wide spectrum of underground bass music genres. Moving from ambient 2-step and bouncy UK funky rhythms, to raucous 4x4 grime and turbo jungle, this record navigates every corner of the bass music landscape, without stopping to take a breath. Next up on eatmybeat is Birmingham’s own, Delta. We’ve had a keen eye on this guy for some time, particularly as his flavour draws from the broad sound palette that eatmybeat specialises in, to include dubstep, UK bass, grime and techno. This is best expressed by his recent mix for Innamind Recordings on Bristol platform SWU, or by his recent releases on Locus Sound and LDH Records. On this occasion, Delta serves up two original plates, complete with a flip from EMB longtime collaborator, Kahter.
