Ever since I heard L.V.'s track 'Globetrotting' on Kode 9's Sonar Festival Mix back in 2007, I've been a fan thus I asked them to remix Jahcoozi.
Since then they've collaborated with Untold and remixed Mount Kimbie and that with the utmost elegance while simultaneously causing mayhem with their Mujava-esque, Kwaito influenced track 'Boomslang' which is sure to make even your granny dance. Their full length album is dropping on Hyperdub v. soon.

Jahcoozi - Read The Books

Jahcoozi wrote this tune together with Kenyan dancehall collective Ukoo Flani at Homeboyz Studio in  Nairobi, Kenya in November 2009. It was written as part of the BLNRB-NRBLN project which was initiated by the Goethe Institut in Nairobi and which involves Jahcoozi, Modeselektor, Gebrueder Teichmann and a number of Kenyan artists including Ukoo Flani.
The track Msoto Millions was featured on the the 3rd Jahcoozi album Barefoot Wanderer which was released on Bpitch Control in April 2009.
The BLNRB project will be presented live at the opening night of Worldtronics Music Festival at Haus der Kulturen der Welt in December 2010 in Berlin, where 22 Kenyan artists, Modeselektor, Jahcoozi and Gebrueder Teichmann are gonna cause some havoc on the stage.... ... Berlin get ready for some serious swahili swagger ------

Trapped in the winter loop with your headphones in the driving seat ?The end sounds a little Phillip Glassand the vox a little King Crimson influenced, Jahcoozi made this tune in November 2008 when they locked themselves in a house Lindow in Brandenburg, E-Germany without an internet connection and made music for a few days. It was foggy, still and grey, coincidentallyit also happened to be the week where Obama won the election.
Overnight was released in October 2010 on a limited edition, glow-in-the dark 12" VinylEP on Los Angeles based label FoF and was accompanied by a T-shirt and a dark as hell King Cannibal remix : Friends of Friends Vol.3.

‘Rainbows’ featuring vocalist Barbara Panther is out on the new Bpitch Control label Compilation titled ‘Where the Wind Blows’.

Matthew Herbert protege Barbara Panther and Jahcoozi already collaborated on a track called ‘Barricaded’ on their third album ‘Barefoot Wanderer’ album which also came out on Ellen Allien’s imprint in 2010.

‘Rainbows’ which came out of a studio session last year is less sparse than their last collaborative effort.  Intertwined vocal lines forge a form of post-rock tinged electronic poetry.
