The concept for this project has been to take on influences from world music, specifically inspired by some of the world's largest rainforests. The first four tracks represent specific rainforest areas, with cultural and environmental influences taken from them as well as their bordering countries. This included the Amazon Rainforest, The Congo, The Daintree Rainforest and the South East Asian Rainforest regions. Throughout the EP, indigenous instruments, animal sounds, tribal chants and significant melodies or vocals have been sampled to enhance the concept. The final track aims to portray the beauty of our forests, and the devastation caused from deforestation.

From deep in the jingle, Deep In The Jungle arise from their Christmas chrysalis with their biggest album to date... 44 absolute beasts from some of their closest allies, freshest friends and long-time sparring partners. From the soaring synths and twisted drum switches of Kumarachi's "For You" to the classical rave feels of Demented Frequency's "Amens On The Nile" via absolute toxic gully from the likes of Galvatron, Didak, Veak, Redline, Epicentre, Sweet N Sikka, Conrad Subs, Martyn Nytram and the bossman DJ Hybrid himself this is a pure steel steal. Nothing short of essential.

Holsten makes a welcome return to the Droogs imprint following his blistering debut last year with the weighty ‘Carrier Wave’ laying down a heavy bass that sets firm foundation for punchy drum workouts. Building on his established sound Holsten gives a nod to some of Drum & Bass’ most dearly held traditions. Another feather in the hat of a rising star of the genre.

Artilect’s ‘Echos’ declares a different tribute that firmly pays homage to the late 90s. A sound resurrection that plays with the space between drums and subtle tribal persuasion. The track lands running and keeps pushing. Tense, electrifying, retro-referential while undoubtably now.
