TV's Stewart Lee described Jail as "a miniature meccano-kit replica of the classic leftfield indie template" (although he did add afterwards "all they need now is scaffolding". But that was in 2004 and we are much better now). Stewart also played Jail's 'Renaissance Man' on his One Way Single Parent Family Favourites lunchtime show on London's Resonance 104.4 FM.

A brief history of Jail: lead singer and songwriter Jon Leone met drummer Kieran Hurley at Devonshire Hall, Leeds University, and recorded the debut EP "Evil Moon, Bad Sun", co-written by Pete Bradbury.

Promoter Steve Kind saw the demo in local guitar shop Rock Shack and gave them a gig at the Royal Park Cellars.

Since then Jail have played in Leeds, Manchester and London and released four albums.
