Jaime Belmonte Caparrós began his studies of piano, composition, conducting and music theory in Murcia (Spain). He is currently finishing his Master's Degree in composition at the Sibelius Academy with Lauri Kilpiö. He has participated in several academic programs like Ruta Quetzal expedition in 2005, Tenso Workshop for Choir and Electronics in 2016 and Transcultural Collaboration in 2017.

His music has been performed in Spain, Finland, Hungary, Belgium, Iceland, Switzerland, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Argentina and Hong Kong, including the participation in the 1st PAMPA Residency of Musical Composition (Buenos Aires), and the premiere of Ñan, a choral-orchestral work in honor to the Spanish journalist Miguel de la Quadra-Salcedo. In May 2015 his chamber work Svarta rosor was premiered by Zagros Ensemble, within Jean Sibelius' 150th anniversary celebrations.

He has worked as Piano, Music Theory, Composition and Choir instructor in several schools, as well as permanent positions as a choir conductor in Spain and Finland. He has been guest conductor of Vantaa Chamber Choir, the Copenhagen Business School Choir, the Choir and Orchestra of Ruta Quetzal, and the Argentinean Air Force Orchestra. Currently he is the artistic director of Järvenpää Chamber Choir, Aiolis Women's Choir and Äänenkannattajat International Student Choir.

As well as composer, conductor and teacher, he is a very active choir singer and has been founder member of the platform for contemporary music Ineditio in Murcia (Spain). He is also part of the board of the Korvat Auki society for young composers.
