Light It Up

I wrote "Leave Me Alone" almost three years ago and unfortunately it has never been more relevant. Roe v Wade is dangling by a thread and honestly the whole ordeal has revealed how little freedom we ever actually had. Individual states have been working to strip womxn of their rights in the decades following the first ruling, and it's finally risen back up to the national level. This song is meant to capture the spirit of frustration, protest, and unbridled rage that wells up for womxn -- and quite frankly any vulnerable group -- every day that the government/capitalism/patriarchy tries to control us. Whether it be by banning *safe* abortions, taxing our menstrual products, or even just whistling at us out of a car window. I hope this song taps into a space of productive anger -- a feeling that will both be cathartic to scream about, and also motivating. We deserve to be left alone. And I think the time is ripe to fight for that right.

Leave Me Alone

The beginnings of Forever Summer came to Le Fauve about a month into this spring's global quarantine. Wild animals were boldly strolling through the suburbs, normally manicured fields were crawling with weeds, in L.A. the air was the cleanest it had been in decades -- the planet was healing. And Le Fauve stared out the window, strumming her guitar and imagining a world where humans didn't exist. It was, well...beautiful.

Forever Summer

Le Fauve is Jaime Brackeen, a singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. Her music is an amalgamation of riot grrrl punk, ‘60s French surf rock, and a dash of pop. She just released her first single, Forever Summer, in November 2020.
