Sorceress is a 5 piece band from New Zealand formerly known as Funkommunity. Their debut album 'Chequered Thoughts' was widely acclaimed around the world and saw them tour Europe and Japan in 2012. The creative duo at the core of Sorceress is vocalist Rachel Fraser and producer/band leader Isaac Aesili.

Teacups is the first single from the forthcoming album 'Dose' by Sorceress due to drop in May 2014. Instrumentation interweaves with stratospheric synth textures creating a soulful space for the heavy vocals of Rachel Fraser. Both dancefloor orientated and contemplative, Teacups takes the listener to an unknown destination, strange but familiar, somewhere between the future and the past.

Hir-O is a beatsmith coming out of the Motor City who combines elements of Jazz and Funk into his music. His music is not new to us, but last month DOC Mastermind first introduced us to Hir-O's new "Emissary" album, which is a prequel to his previous instrumental soundtrack "The Voyage Home".

We fell in love with one track, "Lovely Day on Dagoba", in particular featuring The Elements Band. We played this song on our last radio show and it's the most amazing and uplifting song to come out recently.

It's spring time, so about time for another seasons compilation in the form of "Spring In Jakarta". We got to know Olivier as the guitar player in Oddisee’s live band. Last year he dropped his first EP with Jakarta, „Ain’t cool“ was on this release. Some weeks ago Olivier and Oddisee were hanging out together in Berlin and produced this remix. Oddisee flipped it with some of his signature production and added 16 bars too, giving the original composition a completely new feel. 

As always "Spring In Jakarta" will be a free DLL with free cassette tape copies available from selected retailer. Also be on the lookout for the limited t-shirt + tape combo we did together with the homies from inflammable.com
