Stargazer (Demo)

This is a story of Captain Tod Carter who served in the confederate army. He was 22 when he was shot in a battle in front of his home. 

Lyrics:
Tod Carter was a captain who proudly wore the gray
From Franklin, Tennessee and raised the southern way
Captured while in battle by the Yankee  boys in blue
But from a moving train he found a window and jumped through

The Ohio and the Mississippi served him as a guide
Brought him down to Memphis where he didn't need to hide
Looking east to Georgia there amongst the Georgia pines
Was the 20th Tennessee just across the border line

The cannons opened fire and the deadly bullets flew
Brother fighting brother a nation torn in two
Blood was versing blood and lead was versing bone
In Franklin Tennessee, when Captain Carter came back home.

Back within the Rebel camp but there's a bloody job to do
Heading home to Franklin to run off those boys in blue
The Yankee lads were fortified but Tod carried the fight
When a bullet found the target and brought Tod to The Light.

Tod Carter met his fate that day but did not die alone
In Franklin Tennessee, by the house that he called home
In only Five short hours, more than eight thousand men killed
And the souls of soldiers gray and blue still haunt that battlefield

So close to Robert is inspired by a lack of inspiration, a virtual Jupiter 8 synth, nostalgic ’80s procrastination, The Human League, a virtual Pianoteq, Paul McCartney, Bernard Edwards, a virtual vocoder, David Bowie, The Cure’s synthpop era, and the absence of the JX3P synth… But all of that is quite futile, so let’s dance.
