When I play growth correctly and feel well enough, I like to jump into this part. I use major to express the things that help me feel stable, and the appearance of the minor phrases represent obstacles and/or painful thoughts/memories. I know this one is kind of an earful, but its quite a ride. I hope you enjoy it.

Mercy

I jammed and did some weird stuff to the track. This was really fun. I spend too much time being serious about melodies, so this was healthy for me - I think. I like to jam "improvisation-ally" at least once a day with a story in mind. I was thinking about Paul Bunyan or just some giant who hurls trees into the air. Maybe he even uproots mountains. After which, the nearby animals decide to move into what has been made through destruction. It's called Mercy because I finally feel like the perfectionist in me is letting up so I can really have fun with what I'm doing.

Growth

Ten Years Gone

Sometimes, when I get a hint that I can feel things again, I play something a little more happy. this is one I am revising/re-mastering, but I wanted to share this anyways. 

The Melodies were inspired by as well as borrowed from "Jessica" by the Allman Brothers. One of the things I like to do is take melodies that have been phrased a particular way, and just space the notes differently, if not re-order them. In this case I took the notes from the hook, and tried to give each note a little more room in between. Practice and refinement will hopefully get me to the point where it feels totally different. Until then, yeah it kind of feels like a rip-off, but its out of respect I swear!!
