Often the idea of a childhood home is one of innocence and positivity, however occasionally it symbolizes something much darker. Rosalyn Blades discusses her connection to her childhood home, and her current emotions towards the subject. Rosalyn delves into how her relationship with her family has impacted her relationship to place, whilst demonstrating her assertive, albeit quirky attitude to life. Throughout the piece she recounts some rather emotional memories, even referencing the place as her prison, rather than her sanctuary. Demonstrating that it is, at least partially, through individuals that we foster our connection to place.
