I start with a simple concept, usually centered around an emotion. Then I let the work go where it needs to go from there. For this track my conceptual jumping off point was the idea of what it would feel like to be a drug mule. I guess I've seen one too many episodes of Banged Up Abroad.

For this track the my conceptual jump off was to create an aural sense of isolation, and longing. I was listening to a lot of Eno at the time, so I guess I wanted to try and conjure up something between Music for Airports  and Aphex Twin's S.A.W.

Yukata Romano

Using Koala on my phone to make beats out of stuff I find inspiring. I chopped up a couple of old Japanese enka 45's I found in Honolulu for this one.

Taihen no Odori

Made this song using Koala with samples from some old 45's I found in Honolulu. I also collaged the cover image from those same 45's using photoshop. I'm a total novice when it comes to music but I can't stop! Hit me up if you like the song or the art.

Hana Kemuri ni You Bushi_花煙に酔う節

While on a trip to Cambodia I picked up this random CD of sixties Cambodian music. When I got home and gave it a listen for the first time I was shocked and delighted to find this sweet Khmer language cover of Oye Como Va. I'm not sure about the details, but I thought this was too unique and cool not to share.
