The track "Father's Daughter" is a step towards a more confident & realized sound of Jake and the Kid. The tune is a celebration of newfound success within our hometown. The track deals with feelings of the tentative fear of moving forward, the overwhelming joy of finding small successes and looking forward to a bright future. The band's staff changes led to a shift in the band's desired sound, now leaning into lead-bass driven dreampop sound. The single thanks Regina, and looks to the future.
