A Thousand Tiny Heartbreaks

Michiru Aoyama is a Japanese ambient producer from Kyoto who also enjoys making music in the quiet seaside city of Kamakura, just south of Tokyo. Michiru studied electronic music production in Berlin after his work was hand-chosen by Ryuichi Sakamoto for a radio audition in 2006. Since then, Michiru has released projects on prominent ambient labels such as Organic Industries, taâlem, and Somehow Recordings.

Michiru Aoyama’s Brilliant Days LP comprises two tracks of untitled songs that weave in and out of each other. Michiru’s signature guitar harmonics are treated with serene electronic filters met with youthful under-layers of electronic experimentations and glitchy backdrops.

Federico Durand – Pequeñas Melodías (album preview)

Caminauta is an artist originally from the small town of Treinta y Tres, Uruguay, currently based in Sweden. Her only previous release to date was a cassette EP named 'Extinct' released in September 2017 by Ukrainian label Delta Shock. We're pleased to be able to present her debut album 'Fragments'.

She has been performing music since she was 14 years old, starting with guitar before progressing to bass and synthesizers.
Her current sound continues to explore synths, with both software and performance based work being the backbone of the Caminauta sound. She has a live set up too and last year she was able to participate as part of the Flo Festival in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

'Fragments' is a record centered around melancholia, loneliness but also nature and stylistically it adopts her signature sound but with plenty of variation within these generous 10 tracks. The opening moments use arpeggios where as other pieces are more drone and soundtrack based. Some pieces have the lightest hint of 'electronica', as subtle beats provide a feint pulse and you can even hear poetry, in a tribute to the memory of her friend Alec Wildey.

This album was recorded during a process of personal growth, as she wanted to express those emotions. The recordings are intended to speak of her perception of how she sees the world in general and her process of internal search. The tracks themselves and the details within each of these are fragments, to represent moments in her life and this is where the album adopts a melancholic approach as well as a sense of wonder to the world around us.

Eternell & endlesstrains - Restless Heart

'Place Language' is an international non-profit compilation album project inspired by the themes found in Robert Macfarlane’s widely-acclaimed book ‘Landmarks’. In particular it focuses on the book’s extensive topographic glossaries, the “word-hoard” of depictive landscape terms gathered from 30 different languages, dialects and sub-dialects around Britain & Ireland and divided into sections by type of terrain (Flatlands, Uplands, Waterlands, Coastlands, Underlands, Northlands, Edgelands, Earthlands and Woodlands). Relying on these topograms, or “tiny place poems”, as creative prompts, Place Language seeks to both inspire a renewed interest in our surroundings and reinvigorate our appreciation for the audible textures & patterns that characterize a place in keeping with the book’s stated desire to “re-wild” our vocabulary.

The collection features the work of 28 different sound-artists, field recordists, and musicians from around the globe each of whom selected a Landmarks topogram and recorded an impression of it thus adding rich new aspects of dimensionality through the act of sonification. These selections cover all nine of the book’s glossaries along with place-words of  new coinage as prompted by the blank one which Macfarlane leaves at the end of the book for readers to fill in from their own experience. The end result is a truly global and collaborative survey of place, language, and sound.
