Back in January 2020 before the world went into madness, we heard Eelke Kleijn drop an absolutely beautiful track as the sun set over the buzzing crowd at DGTL Bengaluru. Over a year passed by before Eelke revealed that the gorgeous tune was the now released 'Skin' by Corren Cavini. Since then we have been wanting to bring Corren onboard the Distant Grooves family. And finally it's happening.

Corren Cavini is the alias of Tilburg-based electronic musician Corne Kamminga. Growing up in a town near Amsterdam he has developed a sound that spans a wide musical range, from groovy techno all the way to ambient-induced deep house. Incorporating inspiration from visual art and natural elements into his creative work, has made the young Dutchman a very versatile artist. Valuing brightness and color as well as technological innovation, Corren Cavini is a techno artist who stands out of the bunch and is here to stay.

It’s been two months without any shows, which means I’ve spent a lot of time in the studio and it’s been absolutely amazing! Such a wonderful feeling to take my time and create new music again. I’m super excited to show you what I’ve been working on, but it’s also kinda scary. Very scary, to be honest. This is some of the most personal music I’ve ever made, music created at some of my highest and lowest moments. During that time, I’ve also been working hard on the future of Distant, which makes me even more excited for what’s ahead. So, lots to look forward to! Hope to see you at the first Distant event of the year on March 22 at Warehouse Elementenstraat, Amsterdam. Until I can share more, I hope you enjoy this episode <3

The sun’s been out more lately, and honestly, it’s made such a difference. I always thought I handled the grey winter weather pretty well, but a bit of sunlight really does hit different. I’ve spent a lot of time in the studio lately, stuck in my own little world. Which, inevitably, means insecurities can start to creep in. But kicking off the year with an absolutely epic first Distant show, and being surrounded by all you lovely souls, felt like a complete reset in the best way possible. I can’t wait for the summer season to begin! This month’s episode carries some of that lighter energy. Hope it lifts your mood the way the weather, and dancing with you, has been lifting mine. Although I’ve really enjoyed my time in the studio, now that the sun’s shining and spring is in full swing, I can’t wait to get back on tour. This month is going to be crazy, and honestly, I couldn’t be more excited. It’s funny, touring can feel overwhelming at times, but the moment it stops, you start missing it real quick. That beautiful feeling of being one with the music and the people around you and sharing the moment is just something really special. Here’s to the beginning of summer and the outdoor season. Distant Episode 94 / May 2025

It’s wild how something you love so much can also make you feel so unsure of yourself. Making music is one of the most fulfilling things in my life, but at the same time, it can bring out a lot of doubt. One moment you’re excited about an idea, and the next you’re second-guessing everything. But when it finally clicks, when it’s exactly where you want it to be, it’s the most rewarding feeling.

I’ve come to realize that those doubts are just part of the creative process. Sometimes they show up out of nowhere and mess with your head for a bit. It doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong, it just means it’s time to take a step back, take a deep breath, and appreciate how far you’ve already come.

I hope you find the space to take a step back whenever you're having doubts. And maybe this episode can be a little reminder to appreciate everything you’ve already achieved. I hope you enjoy <3
