Jakkin Rabbit are Danny Kane and Marc Spence, a pair fully versed in the history of house, a duo that releases on labels like Mexa and Hot Creations and an unstoppable force in the DJ booth. Their infectious, floor filling sounds have had support from DJs like Solomun and Art Department and is what makes them so in demand in top clubs everywhere. This Saturday the duo will be appearing at Audio Rehab, who make their much anticipated return to Ministry of Sound following a sell out first party there earlier this year.

Jakkin Rabbit - Deep House London Mix #024

This remix was part of the 2004 Japan only Soul Source Remixed Boogies CD (http://www.discogs.com/Various-Soul-Source-Remixed-Boogies/release/854086) It is a shorter and much stripped down version that features a lot of unheard original vocals from Sylvester's backing vocalists Martha Wash & Izora Armstead AKA Two Tons Of Fun. The longer, fuller, Maxi Disco Blend version came out initially as a Japanese Red promo 12", then on a "Faux" Fantasy Promo 12" and was finally made more widely available on my In The House Of Love compilation with Defected in 2006

2nd hour, guest mix: Stephane Deschezeaux (@springbok-records)

Stephane has been in the game for more than 20 years now and his story began in the early 90’s when he was an avid vinyl collector. 
Having sold a decent part of his collection, he acquired his first Korg M1 synth and his first Atari 1040 ST computer. 
More serious hardware was equipped as time went by and first deep house/house productions appeared in 1995 on Soulshake, Bigelow and other indie labels of that time. These releases were followed by the event series in Grenoble’s 'The Scotch Club’ where Stephane was a resident of the club’s Funk Room.
In the early 00’s he was involved in the project called Sinema together with his friend Kiko and singer Dave who later continued their careers with now rather infamous David Guetta. Sinema was successful enough to sign with such giants of the industry as Barclay and Universal Music.
In 2012 Stephane decides to start producing his own sound and starts his own label Springbok Records. A sound that is mainly focused and rotates around Nu Disco, Nu Funk/Funk 2.0. This also reflects his intention to bring a modern touch to the sounds of funk and disco and blend them together with the structures of deep house and house. This amalgamation of sounds proved itself time and time again to possess a power to stir the dance floors quite successfully as well.
Monsieur Stephane was an integral element in many collaborations over the years and he also produces under quite a few different monikers such as: The Family's Jam, The Grand Public, Cosmic Playerz. 
He also remixed artists like JazzyFunk, Will The Funkboss, OPOLOPO, I genim, Oliver Deuerling just to name a few. 
Stephane just got back from a marvelous tour in Brazil during which he visited Rio, Sao Paulo and Curitiba and he’s still mesmerized by all the intoxicating splendor and vividness of the clubs down there. Another element that stuck in his head is how well educated and receptive the Brazilian crowd is to the sounds of funky music and that makes him believe that the Funk will be kept alive for generations to come!
