**“Ancestral Polyrhythms”** is a sonic journey into the roots of the African continent, where the human voice and the drum converse in an ancestral language. Each track celebrates the tradition of **African folkloric chants**, passed down through generations, accompanied by intricate **drum polyrhythms** that evoke rituals, celebrations, and community ceremonies.

Choruses and voices summon collective memory, while the drums — djembes, dununs, and tribal percussion — interweave cross-patterns that create a hypnotic and immersive experience. The result is a mosaic of energy and spirituality that bridges the ritual with the contemporary, inviting listeners to lose themselves in the eternal pulse of African rhythm.

This album not only honors folkloric roots but also offers a universal experience: a celebration of rhythm as a vital force, capable of uniting cultures and transcending borders.

Toujours bipolaire pt. I

Our first Garacast 19 in 2019 is brouhgt to us from Kellie Sakkaku. This is a mix inspired by the mythology surounding Varanasi and it's creation. According to this during a fight between Brahma and Shiva one of Brahma's five heads was torn off by Shiva. When he came to the city of Varanasi, the hanging head of Brahma dropped from Shiva's hand and disappreared in the ground. Varanasi is therefore considered an extremely holy place. We've done this mix inspired by this story and the awesome beauty of Varanais.

Illuminate feat. Samuel Welch, is upbeat with bags of groove from both the bass and the vocals. Samuels voice is a perfect match for this summer festival anthem (online festival this year no doubt).

Another Meanwhile debutant, the first of two remixes sees Imran Khan’s aptly titled Sunset Mix deliver a cone-melting bass groove that is the perfect stripped back version of the one created by GMJ & Matter in their original versions of Lost On Origin. A heavy beat and whip-cracking percussion add further weight as the multi-layered pads and rich melodic phrasing of the original seeps into Khan’s rework.
