Quadrant Soundscape are Tommy Harrison aka Asphalt Layer and Wilson Logan from Manchester UK. Together, they are the minds behind Dub Explorations, which is a podcast and also a club night. The podcast itself is approaching 100 shows, most 3 hours in length which is an insight into the dedication they have for hunting great ambient, deep and dubby music to showcase and push forward. Andi Otto is one of the co-founders of the German Pingipung label, a steady source of eclectic outernational, dub and electronica sounds for 20 years already. 
For their first Outsiders episode, Andi Otto picks some cherries of the 80 releases strong label catalogue, featuring music by M.RUX, Anadol, Sven Kacirek, F.S.Blumm, Y Bülbül as well as some of his own compositions. 
Andi Otto is a composer, cellist and instrument inventor from Hamburg. His new album “Songs for Broken Ships” together with the South Indian singer MD Pallavi will be released in May 2023 on Pingipung.

The diver descended into an underwater cavern drawn by the allure of the submerged cosmos. The dub techno beats grew louder, enveloping him in a surreal labyrinth of sound and light. He lost all sense of time and space, transported to a parallel universe where strange creatures swam alongside him. As he ascended, he realized that the experience had forever changed him, the haunting melody of the dub techno universe echoing through his consciousness.

Bio/
Emesh, led by Antonio Muñoz, blends creative music production across electronic, ambient, slow trance, and IDM genres. Hailing from La Alcarria, Spain, he's been crafting diverse sounds on Sendero Records since 2013—ranging from danceable beats to soothing melodies, drawing inspiration from 80s pop and electronic music. Antonio's journey as a musician and therapist began as a DJ in Spain's club scene, later expanding to Madrid's renowned venues. Evolving his skills, he delved into music production, mastering various instruments and exploring sound therapy rooted in shamanic practices. Notably, his track was featured at the London Music Conference in 2020, showcasing his talent on a global stage. Currently, he's immersed in his studio, Elul, recently completing an indie electronic EP with Miss Zagato, with more releases slated for 2024. Stay tuned for his latest creations.

Wilhelm Reich lieferte mit dem Buch die erste psychologisch-gesellschaftskritische Analyse des Erfolgs der Nazis. Wie hängen autoritäre Triebunterdrückung und faschistische Ideologie zusammen?

Anders als die meisten Vertreter der KPD war Reich überzeugt davon, dass der Faschismus 1933 einen dauerhaften Sieg errungen hatte. Er fragte sich, warum die Arbeiterinnen bereit waren, gegen ihre ökonomischen Interessen zu wählen. Sie sahen offensichtlich den Widerspruch nicht, dass Hitler allen alles versprach, also dem Proletariat auch die Revolution, aber am Ende nur die Politik des Großkapitals verfolgte. Seine Antwort rückte die Rolle der Ideologie in den Blick; ideologische Reproduktion von Ausbeutung und Herrschaft will er durch Psychoanalyse erklären. Die linke Praxis, propagandistisch auf das soziale Elend hinzuweisen, erschien ihm verkürzt. Er betonte, wie die Nazis durch ihre Propaganda das rationale Denken umgingen und Gefühle mobilisierten. Der kulturelle Kampf ging darum, wie die Arbeiterinnen ihre soziale Lage deuteten. Auf der Grundlage seiner kommunistischen Jugendarbeit und der Erfahrungen, die er mit der sexuellen Not der Jugendlichen und ihren alltäglichen Praktiken gemacht hatte, brachte Reich die Psychoanalyse Sigmund Freuds ins Spiel. Der kleinbürgerliche Alltag müsste geändert werden, die Macht der Familie, der Kirchen müsste kritisiert werden. Es wäre Aufklärung notwendig, mit der autoritären Sexualmoral müsste gebrochen werden. Reich argumentiert dafür, dass die Linke sich für Abtreibung, vorehelichen Geschlechtsverkehr, für sexuell befriedigende Beziehungen einsetzte, um den Autoritarismus zu überwinden.

Im Gespräch mit Alex Demirović ist Prof. Helmut Dahmer, studierte bei Horkheimer und Adorno in Frankfurt am Main, war Professor für Soziologie in Darmstadt und lebt in Wien.
