I was invited on the brokencore show hosted by prspct radio this month. we talked the history of the ever so well known and beloved Oxfordshire breakcore scene, old releases and forthcoming music from myself.
I also put together a rather juicy (if I do say so myself) mix for them too. featuring the usual blend of baselines and breakbeats.

We have come together as an extended family of artists to show support for people with an imperialist's foot on their throat. The Anti-Imperialism Schism was compiled at pace, upon the invasion of Ukraine. All proceeds from this collection will go to supporting humanitarian efforts in both Ukraine and Yemen.

We accept there are many other places facing repression but these people are, at the time of release, facing the most intense onslaught. You’ll know about Ukraine from the Zeitgeist. But, did you know, thanks to 8 years of war in Yemen there are an estimated 24,000,00 people in need of assistance, 100,000 people killed since 2015 and 4,000,0000 displaced people?

War is despicable. We see what the war machine of imperialism does and we throw the deepest scorn at Putin and his government for their ongoing assault on the people in Ukraine and the Saudi Monarchy for their continued bombardment of Yemen. But we equally despise the provocative and uncompromising actions of the US government for their steering of NATO which was catalytic in the Ukraine war and for their kowtowing to the Saudi Monarchy on the war in Yemen. And yes, we see the complicity of the UK, French and Iranian governments, and the rest of the industrial-military complex. And don't worry Israeli government, you get a notable mention, but we are trying to stay on topic.

The more we read, the less we know, but the duplicitous power-grabbing fuckery by all the imperialists is clear. It isn't simple, nor black and white, but the deathly oppression via aerial bombardment of non-combatants is simply unacceptable. To the imperialists and oppressors, their puppets, their funders and their shareholders: Get bent.

We won't fight in the wars of governments. We see strength in anti-war thinking and action. Observing live invasion and war profoundly challenges this philosophical position though, especially as we want to send strength and respect to those forced to fight oppressive invaders to defend their lives and homes. If you think we are a bunch of peace-loving hippies and you wish to donate to support the Ukrainian military defence, because people need to stand up to bullies, you can here… savelife.in.ua/en/donate/ . You are not wrong. It is complicated.

We hope our music can help a little. The best people to decide how to spend the money we raise are on the ground in the Ukraine and Yemen. As such, all funds from this release will go to www.redcross.org.ua/en/ and www.monareliefye.org, 50/50 split.

Ten years... Ten years since I first did this remix for my man Malicious aka Kia Tas the sexy font lord.

Ten years ago sat in my brothers studio, house sitting for him in his flat in askew road.
This track was ment to be released a few times but as is tradition with most of my music, it never happened.
So to mark the date i've decided to upload it here and make it available to whomever wants it.

It actually blows my mind that it has been ten years. Time has wizzed past and most of us have hardly noticed.
Malicious now is too good of a human being to bother making music anymore, and now focuses on making the most out of comic sans. And I'm just a brain dead idiot, who drinks too much and spends far too much time on the internet. Shitposting and playing old, dead and shitty video games.

I hope you guys enjoy this as for me its a nice slice of nostalgia to, for me. A golden age in dark/hard dnb history.

Fear and Loathing in a Quaint Balearic Village is Grey Meta's second release and unquestionably Jacob's (@Jakub23) finest work. It fits Grey Meta's vision perfectly, in that, each track is multiples of different styles within its chosen genre. The whole EP has a 'post-breakcore' feel to it with busy break edits, which, whilst heavily edited, remain subtle and super-easily consumed.

Cliche Jungle Track Title is like a sci-fi roller... a roller, but, interesting. It is subtly busy, a complete contradiction. Harvest is huge. Imagine a dystopian Metalheadz track. Grumpy, growly and sick of your shit ideas. Jacob flexes his lushly reverbed acid muscles with, Macy, and shows that he's more than a drum and bass producer, he's an artist with groove, wonk and dripping acid lines. Perfect.

If your cochlea dine on ominous haunting pads, machine bleeps, likely female vocals, unruly yet solid drum breaks, playful acid licks, grotty low-end injections and a healthy splash of chaos, they are in for a feast. This EP is to be served cold and washed down with a triple shot of genre fluid.

Thoughts from Shaun on what inspired the artwork. 
"When I first heard Fear and Loathing in a Quaint Balearic Village, I knew straight away from what I wanted to focus the art on it as I could see so much going on throughout the EP. Cliche Jungle Track Title for instance instantly projected warm colours, with the vocal feeling like a white-yellowish light gleaming from the sides and occasionally from within. The pitch changing subs were massive colour changing bumps which fed into a point at which emerged a enormous wave created by the reese that warped, swept and crashed throughout the track. I could see the amen and snares hits in bright yellow, snapping brightly in regular rhythmic patterns but suddenly switching up at times into frantic hits and carving lines above everything else."
