so glad you asked. flip a coin to choose starting player. draw cards. place one basic card on active spot. place others in bench if you want. you may not evolve on the first turn a pokemon is out. you may not evolve twice. you may place as many basic pokemon on the bench or evolve as many pokemon at once as you want. you may equip one energy to one of your pokemon per turn. you may then select an attack which fits the current energies on the card (you may not if it is the first turn and you were the first to play). colorless will be covered by any energy type. this ends your turn. you may also pass your turn. you may also retreat if you have enough energy to do so. you will then discard that amount of energy from that card. this will swap the active pokemon with a benched pokemon. if you kill a card select a prize card and draw it to hand. if you draw all 6 prize cards or kill the opponent's pokemon when they have no others on the bench you win.
