Jalaya, born Jalaya Ocean Frisella Kunst, an innovator of Freeform Bass, emerges as a dynamic force within the Bass Music landscape, infusing dark gritty basslines that captivate listeners. With a distinctive percussion style cutting through glitchy distortion, Jalaya orchestrates a sonic journey that bends and contorts reality with hard hitting low end and enchanting melodies. His bass heavy style blends dubstep, trap, experimental bass, hip hop and beyond. His mission is to illuminate the shadow to awaken our freq of nature.

Raised amidst the rugged terrain of the Tetons in Idaho and Wyoming, Jalaya's musical journey began over two decades ago as a multi-genre drummer. After leaving his mark on California's Bay Area for the better part of a decade, he now calls Denver, Colorado, home, refining his unique blend of West Coast Bass.

Jalaya's rapid ascend includes notable releases on esteemed labels such as Bassrush, Subcarbon, Saturate, Morflo, and Sleeveless Records. In 2019, Jalaya launched LoFreq, a tastemaker record label and event company. With six groundbreaking compilations and numerous EPs under its belt, LoFreq has become a beacon for over 100 innovators in the bass music scene worldwide. Jalaya's visionary leadership has led to takeovers at prominent festivals such as The Untz Festival and Toxic Summer, solidifying his status as a trailblazer in the genre. His debut EP, 'The Cobra,' soared to number two on Beatport's dubstep charts in 2020. His sound has garnered support from industry luminaries like NGHTMRE, Slander, Liquid Stranger, LSDream, Ravenscoon, LUZCID, Stylust, and DMVU. 

A masterful fusion of live instrumentation and electronic elements defines Jalaya's stage presence, drawing on nearly two decades of drumming experience to deliver unforgettable performances. His presence has graced renowned festivals including Wobbleland, Lightning in a Bottle, The Untz Festival, Emissions, Toxic Summer, Camp Questionmark, Stilldream, and Santa Cruz Music Festival.
