Jamaal was born in Pensacola, Florida and grew up in Wilson, North Carolina with his sister Nina Griggs and mom Brenda Hammonds who was a single parent. Both parents were in the service so they lived in California & Texas. One day Brenda packed her car up with Nina & Jamaal & drove back home to Wilson, North Carolina from California. 

Jamaal didn’t graduate high school but he did go back and received his High School diploma & went on to musical engineering school at The Institute of Audio Research in lower Manhattan New York. He moved to NY to get his beats heard however it just wasn’t meant at that time however he will be back. Music has always been his passion but one day Nina said Jamaal, you should create a reality show about music producers. Same day Jamaal was researching how to write a reality show treatment. He figured it out & starting writing. 

He pitched some shows to Emmy Award Winner Diana Rivera & she loved “Family Bond” a show TVONE announced in 2016 as one of their new shows however things didn’t go as planned. Jamaal got tired of sending shows to LA so he packed his car up and drove to California from Wilson, NC with plenty of reality shows, movie scripts, & a innovation for smartphones to pitch. 

Besides TV Jamaal has a foundation called Help A Child Smile Foundation were he mentors children, feed his hometown community, does clothing giveaways in the summer, winter & for back to school. He is a true Humanitarian at heart!

His main goal in life is to help all children in the world regardless of his or her nationality, make good music & everything else will fall in place. Mr. Griggs is deeply into meditation & yoga as well as networking with positive creative people that love people for who they are. The yoga & meditation truly keeps him grounded & peace with himself, others & universe. #LetsMakeSomeHistory
