My eyes see the world different no matter the position
I live in, whether its scraping change to buy bread
while other kids never had a problem tryna get fed
I found myself leeching off my friends food had to borrow money
there was an absence of cash in my life which wasn’t funny
it meant we spent nights not eating
you probably think im overreacting but trust me I aint gone spit treason
I’m from the north shore which makes you assume we rich
but we were born into this life, one I would never wish to switch
I only spit real stuff because we struggled
bills, food, stress, depression all to juggle
but we got through we made sure to stay strong
had to cut a few friendships to make sure I get along
now all I do is smoke weed, work and rap songs
a lifestyle that’s influenced by me wanting to belong
but I never sell out I just flow when time is given
like kids holding gun tryna be a man to fit in
I aint ready to grow up but im ready soon to blow up

my alter ego now I spose should I grow it
or refer to myself as the number one poet
nah for now I just wanna get some shit up off my chest

because theres no one else  I see in my visionary
got my pen and my pad making scribbles in the back
thinking constantly how can I try improve these tracks
I never slack because I know if I relax then ill be finished
my mind wanders off so then my thoughts get diminished
forget what I was gonna say I shoulda wrote it down
instead of playing the clown and busy joking around
I needa sit more and start writing as the mind burn
take it serious and always take away what I learn
I”ve gotta start accepting that not everyone will like this
If success was a fingertip away would you fight this?
If somebody put a J in your hand would you light this?
or question everything cos that is really what my life is 
-I got everybody asking me what I wanna do
claim to have no clue but Im trying to pursue
A career based in hip hop with underground fame
but surfaced slighty on the mainstream to spread my name
but mostly, I just want the people out to hear me
clearly enough so they don’t feel the need to sneer me
but most of all I wanna make my grandma proud
as she looks down at me from up away in the clouds

Straight from the Middle Kingdom, our next mix comes from Shanghai based Arkaik, ahead of his debut ‘Shapes EP’ on Dispatch LTD. 

An avid label follower since our early years (joining us in 2011 as Octane & DLR remix competition winner), the mix highlights his deep knowledge and respect for the scene.

Don’t fret, this is no nostalgia tour, but focuses on highlighting the relevance of past Dispatch releases today; as fresh the day they were released, mixed with new music, classics and forthcoming Arkaik material. 

“My aim with this mix is to show how the Dispatch back catalogue is still relevant and modern among Drum & Bass’ current affairs.
