First of all, let’s put it out there:

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not gonna write a cute folk song about the challenges we all face today. I just 𝑪𝑹𝑰𝑵𝑮𝑬 when I hear the quaint updates people are posting on, Sweet Caroline, or My Sherona. 🤢
I prefer to take a more nuanced and nostalgic approach in the hopes of self-medication.
Not entirely unlike Bob’s Murder Most Foul. Only more personal, and 𝑴𝑼𝑪𝑯 shorter.

Towards this goal I present 𝗟𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗬.
A Cake-Walk type ramble in the key of D. My metronome puts it at 55-BPM (𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒐).
The litany is the reminisce of a So. Minneapolis man, old enough to remember when they were still digging out 35W. A young man waits for a bus cir. 1970. There he meets a street-person/war vet/prophet who is commenting aloud to no one in particular about the evolving urban landscape on the corner of Lake and Nicollet.

This is topical as they are once again making mouth noises about opening up Nicollet Ave. by tearing down 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 FUCKING 𝗞-𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁.
Given our current situation, I guess anything can happen.
