TBX Records 22nd reference is a collaboration between two Argentinean artists Agus and Lucas Ferreyra, who are an aesthetic category in minimal culture denoting an intuitive, implied rather than an explicit, obvious perception of the essence of a house beat.

'The Beat Make Me Do It' EP features three original tracks followed by an amazing remix by LAROSA. Maintaining a smooth and unique rhythm supplemented by deep pads and chords, each track has enough potential to stand its own. French artist Damien Almira aka Timid Boy is back with a bold new EP on Moan Recordings which reflects the stylistic evolution his sounds have made over the last two years. His original comes with remixes from Nacho Bolognani and Per Hammar. 

The tunes here are still driven by groove, but go deeper into more sophisticated sounds and textures. They come after the classically trained pianist and former Trax Mag deputy editor has released on the likes of Roush, Deeperfect, Saved and his own Time Has Changed label.

Per Hammar version presents a more dubbed out and stripped back groove of Leo that gets you lost in the music.

Letter from Emilio Menkori García, Machiguenga Chief (Urumba River, Peru)

„I am grateful for the opportunity to express myself. I speak on the behalf of the Machiguenga people, those of the past, present and future. We have always been respectful people. We have always respected our neighbors whether they were Machiguenga, Colonists, Cuacasians or Serranos. We have never attacked or abused, furthermore we have given up much of our lands. In return for our hospitality we have been abused, enslaved and persecuted by the majority of these visitors. This began with the first of them that came for the gaucho of the rubber tree. We escaped to our streams. After that came the mixed race settlers, serranos and whites who wanted to force us to work their lands. The catholic priests also wanted to change our culture pretending to be sent by Tasorinki (Creator God of the Machiguenga). They wanted us to think like Christians not like Machiguenga people. They have confused many countrymen who now believe in sinners and devils. Even worse were the gringo evangelists who gave us „the word of god“ and many conveniences to buy us off. They translated the history of Israel, the „Bible“, to our language. These stories are not ours, neither is their god ours. Yes there are some similar ideas, and through these they wanted to dominate us.

They say we are savages … and we have no forest left to be savages, to escape, for we have given up all to the settlers. And now they want us to give our souls as well, after that we will have nothing to give. And so the Machiguenga people will disappear, nobody will remember anymore about them. But Tasorinki, yes, remembers the Machiguenga. We are him."

After an incredible CLOSE Tour in Paris, Glasgow and London we are leading into another crazy week, the annual Amsterdam ADE conference.  This year is a special one for me as I’ll be doing a special extended set on Friday October 19th  for Loveland's new All-Nighters concept at Warehouse Houthavens, which gives me plenty of time to weave in and out of lots of special sounds, frequencies and rhythms.  To get you through the week here is the recording of my BPM festival set from just a few weeks ago, which will surely get you in the mood and give you a taste of what to expect on Friday night!
