I sang this song, along with a few others, to my infant children, one by one, across years, as I rocked them to sleep (or back to sleep). The flowing ascending and descending melody helps me feel God's gentle love for me. This arrangement enhances this technique with lovely harmony among the voices. Listen for the descending bass line in the third verse, "He came" and His glorious "name." In this recording, I sang bass.
