Known for his soulful voice and inspirational lyrics, the singer, songwriter, composer and producer is also a gifted guitarist and percussionist and is set to take the Afro-Jazz and Kalindula music scene by storm.

James Sakala's musical inspirations hail from all over the continent and include Zimbabwe’s Oliver Mtukudzi, Cameroon’s Richard Bona, Congo’s Lokua Kanza, and South Africa’s Hugh Masekela. 

James Sakala has collaborated and shared the stage with several award-winning artists including Zimbabwean legend Oliver Mtukudzi, South African rapper HHP (‘The King of Pantsula’) and afro-soul singer Zonke.

James Sakala's eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Insale’ (meaning ‘strings’) fuses Afro-Jazz and the traditional Zambian sounds of Kalindula. It will be released in April 2015.
