A Timeless Season is an original R&B/Pop song written by James Everett. The song idea was born out of love and found memories during the Christmas holiday season with his mother and big sister (cooking up a storm) in the kitchen, producing one of James favorites, German Chocolate cake.

Have Yourself A Merry Litttle Christmas

James Everett is a native of San Francisco with a sound and performance style that’s reminiscent to the Rat Pack days fused with sprinkles of R&B, Jazz, Pop and Neo-Soul.  

James musical journey started at the age of 4 while sitting on a church pew with his feet dangling, looking up at his big sister (Carolyn) amid the sound of jubilant tambourines in syncopation to hands clapping. Little did he know that the sultry voice of his teenage sister would impact his life for years to come.  Inspired by a number of musical influences such as Frank Sinatra, Luther Vandross, Smokey Robinson, Tony Bennett, Gospel, Soul and Johann Sebastian Bach, James found his baritone/tenor/falsetto eclectic vocal style. It was not just men who inspired him to sing, he also paid close attention to the likes of Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson, Minnie Riperton, Roberta Flack and Aretha Franklin’s revived soul. 

In December of 2016, James debuted his first album: A Timeless Season (The Song That Sings Of You). The Christmas holiday album exhibits a sample of his musical influences, original songwriting (A Timeless Season, The Gift, The Song That Sings Of You) as well as the production and musical talents of Tal Ariel (Producer/Arranger) and Kelly Park (Kelly Park Big Band/Co-writer of The Song That Sings Of You). The holiday album was dedicated to James’ oldest sister (Carolyn) who lost her battle to cancer just days before its Christmas release. Since that time, James has performed with some of the Bay Areas top musicians at venues such as the Oakland Sound Room, Brick & Mortar, The Mark Hopkins (Peacock Room), The Fairmont Hotel and a few coffee houses and wineries.  

James is passionate about performing,  writing original songs, creating collaborations  and building musical relationships. Currently, James is  anticipating  the release of his new original R&B/Pop single, Slipping Away (Nov  2019).  He hopes to set the mood in bringing back the cool, the class and the love with songs that remind us to listen to our heart.
