Fractal Horizon

The inspiration behind Jimmys Dream traces back to a late 70s interview with Jim Morrison, the legendary frontman of The Doors. During the conversation, Morrison was asked about the future of music, and his prediction was spot-on: One man, a lot of machines and electronics. In this track, Zapta brings that vision to life by weaving together the signature elements of his sound. A gritty, heavy bassline pulses beneath Goa-inspired acid leads, all set against the backdrop of a twilight-infused atmosphere. Its a fresh chapter in musical history. I had to go kind of deep to publish this second EP on ESP. I allready was doing a lot of other stuff in (media) publishing and wasn't finishing my tracks.  A&R guy Fred Berkhout asked me kindly all the time and we had a lot of laughs (and cries) because of it. I wasn't to good in finishing stuff back then. But finally I managed.
Funny note: I noticed (music) publishers were not doing a lot, so I started 'minimal publishing'. Got me 30% of the revenue extra, while doing the same as the other publishers: not much! The music bizz is a strange business.
