James Cannell is a highly skilled composer, orchestrator and multi-instrumentalist based just outside Norwich, UK, specializing in creating captivating music for Film, TV, and Video Games. With a deep passion for film scores ignited during his early exposure to movies like "Home Alone," "Ghostbusters," and "Terminator 2: Judgement Day," James developed a profound appreciation for the power of music in storytelling.

Starting his musical journey at a young age, James began studying guitar under the guidance of Tim Jefferson, a seasoned musician associated with the BBC Midland Radio Orchestra and The John Barclay Collection. His dedication and talent led him to pursue a degree in Film Score Composition at Essex University, where he excelled and graduated with First-Class honours, earning him an Excellent Achievement in Music Award.

Seeking to enhance his skills further, James embarked on a Master of Arts program in Orchestration for Film, Games & Television at Thinkspace Education in 2021. Drawing inspiration from the vast spectrum of film and video game scores, he expertly combines traditional orchestral elements with hybrid synthetic genres, resulting in imaginative and diverse soundscapes that captivate audiences.

In addition to his composition and orchestration work, James is a creative entrepreneur, running his own sample library company, Soundemic Studio Samples, which is set to launch in the near future. This venture showcases his deep understanding of cutting-edge technology and modern sampling techniques, enriching the musical landscape for fellow composers and producers.

Outside of his professional endeavours, James finds joy in his family life, living with his wife, Chloe, and their son and daughter. His home studio serves as a creative sanctuary, allowing him to bring his musical visions to life and continue his pursuit of pushing boundaries in the world of audio storytelling.
