This is an improvisation I did to explore the potential that a particular Max/MSP program had to treat and manipulate basic material. The viola input is based on four elongated glisses. 

Yip Paredu

Disruption forms the basis of this piece to explore how intrinsic ‘human’ qualities of the voice can be obscured.

Forkhead Box

2 pianos act as resonant bodies which are activated by two
speakers facing inwards. The resonance produced is manipulated
through the computer to explore harmonic and textural layering. As
the piece grows and the palette of resonant sounds expands, the
listener is conceptually positioned from the outside of the piano to the
inside

Macropsia

In this work, the computer assess levels of activity on varying time
scales. This information is used to create both localised gestures and
to influence structure and form. In a sense, the computer seeks to find
its place in the musical environment by both reacting and influencing
the two live performers.

inside in-ness never inside out

Through the use of an e-bow and a traditional bow, harmonically rich
sounds are produced through the guitar. The spectral composition of
these sounds is used as musical material, in which the electronics
attempt to trace the sound-shape of the guitar in its own idiomatic
manner.
