I enjoyed your unique interpretation of my haiku. I can picture two seahorses dancing. You got me dancing too!

Stroll through the woods under the beam of a UFO,
See the pines basking in the spacecraft's bold show.
Just gaze freely,
For oftentimes, the woods are a bustling alien fair.
You never realized,
But in the end, you're one of them, an extraterrestrial to declare.

Disquiet Junto Project 0620: Beat Accrual Accrual
The Assignment: Turn someone’s slow-build beat into a finished track.

Step 1: In the previous project, people built beats that accrue slowly over time. Familiarize yourself with the instructions at disquiet.com/0619 5.

Step 2: Several of the musicians who participated last week have allowed their tracks to be reused for this project. The majority are in this playlist. If you’d like your track from the previous project included this week, just get in touch and let me know.


For this test I used 2 pieces from the previous compilation:
1) GoingModular - Disquieting Polyrhythm
2) fakeg3nius - [disquiet0619] Rhythm
 I was particularly fascinated by the loop, which with very few notes and chords manages to create this suspended sensation of strong melancholy and, at the same time, of hope. On the other hand, the response, dry and peremptory, of the phrasing and timbre of the drums. I added, at the beginning and end of the piece, some "disturbance" lines, always rhythmic.

7 Shoes Swinging

James is a multi-instrumentalist creator of music as well as a contemporary artist. He plays stringed instruments (guitars, cello, ukulele, bass, etc.) and uses a midi controller for any instruments he doesn't have access to; such as a timpani or a glockenspiel.

James creates music that is inspired by the pure love and joy of making music. The style of music he creates varies from piece to piece. He will go from songs that are accompanied by guitar or ukulele to full arrangements of a traditional North American band to orchestral scores that you could easily hear backing a film or video. 

By browsing his music you're likely to come across traditional pieces of music sounding as old as time and other pieces sounding as new as yesterday's jingle. 

Instruments inspire him to make new sounds come together to form music and combining old and new sounds is something he very much enjoys exploring.

While music and sounds are a big part of James' personality so is making art, graphics, and videos. James has worked professionally as a technical illustrator/graphics specialist since 1991. So James almost always creates art specifically for each piece of music he puts out into the world. The art may or may not be directly related to the piece of music in context but it will definitely give you another perspective on how the music has inspired him or makes him feel.
