"Had It All" is the second single from Bardie, written after years of false starts. It captures that quietly devastating moment when something you once cherished has already slipped away. Built around a muted, melodic bassline, it slowly swells into a cathartic, full-band climax with layered nylon guitars, frenzied lap steel, and raw sax. It's lyrically sparse but emotionally direct—less about telling and more about feeling.

The lyrics to ‘Samurai’ came as a spark from something I read in the NY times, It was an article showcasing drawings made from a woman imprisoned in Syria. She had portrayed her roommates in the prison, describing their characters and how the prison environment had affected their psyche over time. It made her think of the limited time we have in a life and how devastating it must be if it feels like your time has been taken away.

It further made me think of the ‘biological clock’ that is often referred speaking of women, that they have some sort of less ‘time’ than men to do what they want before potentially establishing a family.  The lyrics of the song is a blend of these reflections, a nostalgic throwback to what could have been, or was there but was taken away.

KUZbeats is genre-defying "cinematic indie-tronica" that joins modern musical elements to whatever's left of the weird old world. It's searching for something. The music reflects diverse influences and tall tales from the artist’s life and travels. And it rocks.

James Dey grew up in a vicarage in Bradford, the 3rd of 5 sons. The house was full of music. Time went by and, for want of any other skills, James moved to Manchester to study jazz drumming in a city fizzing with life. He discovered a love for lyric writing and layering his fragile vocals with delicately played guitar, piano and percussion to create warm, lush musical landscapes.
He began releasing in 2005 with his debut ‘Landing Lights’. More solo releases followed - ‘the night time’ album drawing widespread attention in 2016, followed by 4 EPs in 2019 titled ‘Spring’, ‘Summer’, ‘Autumn’ and ‘Winter’, released chronologically through the seasons of that year. 2021 will see the release of new album ‘Tongues in Trees’, a collection of songs drawn together from James’ theatre soundtracks. 
James now lives and works in Leeds, where he continues to journey in these musical landscapes. He finds inspiration in birds, trees, estuaries, overheard conversations and nostalgic longings. The music is all hushed beauty, telling small stories of seemingly unremarkable things.
