Polar Night Vol. 1 is how I imagine a Winter visit to Tromsø, Norway, a city of 75,000 well in the arctic circle. I hope to visit soon, then make Vol. 2 based on my experiences.

While I was waiting for schedules to line up on other projects, I occupied myself in summer with an arctic theme. It was refreshing to exercise different creative muscles with a largely experimental recording. It was a really fun and fast-moving toboggan ride to record. A little harder to mix, but not quite a (polar) bear.

All the “percussion” is electric guitar, and with rare exception the instrumentation is limited to e guitar and Moog Sub 37.

It’s filled with celestial wonders and geological violence. I hope you like it.
