Here we are in April, the days endless and the nights wild under the skies, the softness of the twilight air now warming the chlorophyll-coloured leaves. What could be more ideal than this prestigious guest, Adam Pits, to inaugurate this new chapter, filled with sunshine, joy, gentleness, trance and hypnotism, where bodies and souls merge in symbiosis with their surroundings, the living, the plant world, and finally, above us, the stars to dream of.
Adam Pits is a renowned producer and DJ, based in London, the artist has toured clubs and festivals all over the world: Fabric, Watergate, Corsica Studio, Boiler Room, C12, De School, Garage Noord, Dimensions Festival...He has signed magnificent opuses on labels such as Space Lab, Constant Sound, Craigie Knowes, and has launched his label On Rotation with Lisene and Chris I'Anson since 2014! 
Welcome to this sublime set, with its spring colours, crazy transitions and magical selection. Adam Pits delivers an hour's mix of deep techno, solar acid-house, esoteric ambient, space breakbeat and vibrating trance that's sure to leave you breathless!

Our next mix comes from some very good pals of ours, @inner_zone. As well as running one of our all time favourite labels @spacelabrecords, Nic and Rupes are responsible for some of the best parties London has seen in recent years. Having founded the legendary Make Me event series, they now run Transmissions at Fold as well as its yearly festival edition Transmissions From Hackney. They've also released some great EPs on labels such as Feelings Worldwide and their own Space Lab imprint.

This mix exemplifies their versatility; a live recording from their warm up for Sunju Hargun at one of their Fold parties last year. Taken from the opening hours of the party and progressing from deeper to more rolling sounds while building tension, this set captures the perfect early-night balance between patience and momentum. It's a perfect snapshot of what makes them such great DJs - deep selections, great pacing and total synergy between the two of them. Thanks boys!

We’re joined by DJ Rachel Jazz for a seriously slick set of Deep House, Dub Techno and Downtempo, recorded live in Outlaws Yacht Club, Leeds.

“I think I have a fairly broad taste in music but find myself drawn towards tracks with elements of jazz, funk, or dub. I rarely do an all electronic mix as I flit between disco and jazz adjacent stuff a lot but this time I wanted to embrace the deeper, dubbier, electronic side of my collection. As of late I’ve been really digging Francois K’s Deep Space mix series and I think a lot of that comes through in this mix. I also love a lot of early 90s ambient which I wanted to pay homage to here.”

🗣️ Q&A with Rachel Jazz 🗣️

💡 What sparked your interest in digging/collecting music?

I’ve been an electric guitarist since I was 8 and built my own bass guitar at 16. It was figuring out how to work my loop pedal with all the crazy effects which really sparked my interest which was a nice segue into properly discovering electronic music when I was about 19. I used to collect CDs when I was a teenager and still have a decent collection of prog rock and jazz fusion with some hip hop, metal, and funk thrown in. Even though I’m not a big fan of the over-indulgent prog rock/jazz fusion stuff now it’s definitely informed a lot of my tastes in electronic music down the line especially with house producers like Joe Claussell and Fred P. It was Underworld and the Sasha & Digweed Renaissance/Northern Exposure mixes that got me into electronic music and made me want to become a DJ/producer.

🎚️ Tell us about any parties, events, collectives or labels that have inspired you.

**Where to start! I think everyone that runs parties in Leeds inspires me as the job is so tough right now so everyone who painstakingly puts on nights with love and attention to detail deserves a raise and a big hug.

Hearing 10-minute gospel tracks at Cosmic Slop or tunes like “Underwater” by Harry Thumann at Love Muscle gave me the confidence to embrace playing what I wanted to hear, rather than what I think I should play as a DJ (i.e. generic house music). Hearing Andrea Dama at my first PleasureMaxxx was my first “what the hell am I dancing to” moment, blew my mind. Had never heard of New Beat or proto-trance, leftfield disco stuff. Still one of my favourite sets to this day.  Working at Outlaws Yacht Club also exposed me to a huge variety of music, as did going to Club Cosmos, LickQuidGold, and Bob & Weave.**

🪩 Tell us about your approach to digging, where do you find your music?

Trade secret! ;) When I lived in Manchester I would go record shopping a few times a week and became friends with many of the owners. I now know which shops are the best for each genre so in an afternoon of digging I can come away with a load of amazing records without breaking the bank. I think there’s this idea that records are super expensive (it definitely can be if you get carried away - new releases definitely so) but some of my best records are bargain bin tunes that I got for 10p or 50p. I think chatting to record shop staff and being open about what you do and don’t like is key (as intimidating as it can be!). Careful and creative filtering on Discogs can do wonders too, that’s how I find most of my music. Comment sections and forums are your friends for finding new tracks!
